Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you for your business.
OMNI has served the industrial market for over 30 years and our products have a proven track record of long service life. However, long-term availability depends on many conditions, some of which are beyond OMNI's control.
On May 15, 2012, OMNI announced that the company was no longer able to manufacture its EPROM CPU or any of its predecessors supplied since 1991 due to component unavailability and expanded firmware requirements to accommodate international measurement Standards.
Additionally, our compliance to standards such as IEC, OIML, WELMEC, EN 12405 and ISO 9001:2015 require us to ascertain the flow computer backward compatibility. Firmware changes, CPU replacement, and power supply modifications may result in a combination that will not comply with metrological certifications or quality standards and may result in incompatibility in many installations.
Over many years, OMNI has evolved a protocol for accepting and processing any upgrade requests worldwide. This allows us to maintain the OMNI 3000/6000 Flow Computer in compliance with the appropriate metrology certifications and quality standards. This protocol is supported by OMNI’s ISO 9001:2015 certification and based on our OIML certifications from 2009 (OMNI 6000) and 2016 (OMNI 7000).
Introducing a prior used or new flow computer module into a pre-2009 certified OMNI 3000/6000 is not a recommended industrial practice. To do so not only could it compromise the integrity and future reliability of these long-lasting flow measurement systems, but it will also create the risk of measurement losses.
If you would like to discuss any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
OMNI Flow Computers, Inc.
