OMNI 4000/7000 FLOW COMPUTER COMPATIBILITY

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for your business.

OMNI Flow Computers has been designing, developing, and manufacturing flow computer products to serve the oil and gas industry for over 30 years. The OMNI 3000/6000 and 4000/7000 models are installed throughout the world in most oil and gas provinces. They are recognized for their quality, long term reliability, ease-of-use functionality without custom programming, low-cost engineering, and performance.

The ability to provide continuity of support and ease-of-use was critical to customers who wanted a safe, lower-cost migration path for the existing installed base connected to more than 50,000 custody meters. Therefore the OMNI 4000/7000 introduced in 2017 represents the best, lowest cost migration path for any customer from the OMNI 3000/6000, or, indeed, other products in the market. The product was focused on being non-disruptive to our customers.

Both OMNI product models are compliant with standards including API, AGA, ISO, IEC, OIML and WELMEC. The operating system and programming language are different. Although similar in fit, form and functionality and have identical hardware “footprint” compatibility, hardware interchangeability is limited. There is no forward compatibility.

Introducing a prior used flow computer module into an OMNI 4000/7000 is not a recommended industrial practice. To do so not only could it compromise the integrity and future reliability of these long-lasting flow measurement systems, but it will also create the risk of measurement losses. Only OEM factory-tested and supplied replacement parts are recommended.

As a best practice, working with OMNI, you will have a quality assurance that will keep your system performing at its full potential for years to come. Recommended authorized training by an OMNI-certified trainer is an additional assurance.

If you would like to discuss any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

OMNI Flow Computers, Inc.
